PLAN AHEAD WHEN POSSIBLE:
Call J&A as soon as you know when you will need a dumpster. This ensures you’ll be able to get a container out as soon as you’re ready for your project. Also, evaluate the project to see which size of container you will need.
Most times this will be in your driveway, close to the house. There are things to consider, such as low hanging trees or basketball goals that could impede the driver’s ability to place your container. If your container can’t be placed on a concrete surface, check the forecast for the duration of your project to make sure placing or picking up the container won’t be an issue due to wet conditions.
LOAD YOUR CONTAINER EFFICIENTLY:
By taking time to load larger items carefully, you can ensure you get the most out of your dumpster rental. Consider breaking down large items with a sledgehammer or reciprocating saw.
DISPOSE OF HAZARDOUS ITEMS PROPERLY:
Placing hazardous waste such as paint cans, cleaning solutions, or tires in a dumpster is not only a bad policy, it will end up costing you money. These items are either not accepted at most landfill facilities, or they will incur additional surcharges that are the responsibility of the customer. If you have hazardous waste to be disposed of, give us a call and we can assist you in disposing of it properly.
If you have items that are recyclable, such as appliances, electronics, etc., place them at either the front or rear of the container so they can be easily sorted for recycling.
MATTRESSES AND BOX SPRINGS
The landfills have recently started charging a $25 disposal fee for every mattress and every box spring, regardless of the size. Please let us know if there will be any mattresses or box springs when the dumpster is ordered
Dumpster Rental Terms & Conditions
By accepting the dumpster, the customer agrees to the following terms and conditions,
1) Payment due on Delivery:
The initial payment will be paid on or before receipt of services. Any additional fees due to overweight or other fees are due within 24 hours of the container being removed.
2) Possible Additional Fees:
Unacceptable Items: If any unacceptable items, see list below, are found at the landfill while emptying the dumpster you will be charged accordingly based on the landfill fee. Overloaded or Overweight Dumpster: An additional pro-rated fee will be applied if weight exceeds the agreed tonnage allowance (2T) and under no circumstances shall the overall weight exceed 5 tons. If in excess of 5 tons, an additional “excessive weight” surcharge of $150 will be applied to the landfill fees. Improperly loaded dumpster: In the event that material/waste is not properly loaded and causes it to be unsafe to pick up or transport, materials will need to be unloaded or reloaded. There will be a $50 per man hour charge. A $75 trip charge is incurred when a dumpster cannot be removed. Blocked Dumpster: Delivery and/or removal of the dumpster is at the discretion of the driver. If the driver is unable to deliver or pick-up a dumpster due to cars or other items blocking the drive, there will be a $75 trip charge. There will be a $40 per charge after the allowed rental agreement days.
3) Use of Dumpsters: While J&A Dumpster is in your possession you will not:
Place any prohibited items in the dumpster. Fill the dumpster higher than the top of its sides. Light fires in the dumpster. Place any extremely heavy materials such as concrete, dirt, shingles or rock. Please let us know and we can help you dispose of such heavy items in a more efficient manner.
4) Prohibited Items:
We cannot accept: PAINT, FREON, CHEMICALS, or HAZARDOUS WASTE. WE CANNOT ACCEPT A DUMPSTER WITH ANYTHING STICKING OF OUT THE TOP OF THE DUMPSTER.
Although J&A always uses extreme care and caution when delivering and picking up Containers, we are not responsible for damage to weak or broken walkways, driveways, property. We will only drive over grass if directed by the customer. However, J&A is not Responsible for any ruts or damage to septic tanks, wells, sprinklers, and grassy areas. The customer is responsible for any damage to the dumpster while in their possession. If using a skid steer to load, customer agrees to use extreme care.
